Maternity Nurse

Self-employed, the maternity nurse works alongside the mother as soon as the baby is born, 24 hours a day usually 6 days a week, for a period of approximately 3 months. This helps the mother to get her baby into a feeding and sleeping routine, and works especially well for first time mothers. The maternity nurse teaches and helps the mother through the first nerve-wracking and tiring few months of this life-changing event

This arrangement also works well for parents who already have a large family with a nanny already in place and just need that extra help solely for the new baby.

Full Time Live-Out Nanny

The nanny comes to your home 5 days a week, usually Monday to Friday from 8am till 6pm, but specifics can be arranged upon interview between the nanny and the parent.

All evening babysitting is paid extra at an hourly rate, weekend work is paid extra at daily or hourly rate, and overnight work also paid at a separate rate. Duties will be to have sole charge of the children, prepare their meals, deal with all their washing and ironing, keep their bedrooms and playrooms tidy and organised, help with any homework, and drive to and from school and play dates etc.

Full Time Live-In Nanny

The nanny works for you full time, and part of her wages is substituted as room and board. Her duties will be the same as a full time live out nanny, with the added bonus of 2 extra nights babysitting included in her weekly wage.

Having a live-in nanny allows both nanny and parents to be ultra-flexible with hours.

Nanny/Housekeeper (live-in or live-out)

The Nanny/Housekeeper combines the role of nanny with that of a housekeeper, looking after cleaning and day-to-day care of the house and caring for the children, the amount of time spent on each largely depending on the children's ages, and thus their dependence on her.

Wages would need to reflect this dual role, and with recruitment being difficult for many families, a compromise solution is to employ a mother's help.

Night Time Nanny Only

Self employed, the Nanny arrives at 9pm and leaves at 7am. In addition to caring for the children she will also assist in trying to guide your child to sleep through the night. She will feed babies on their scheduled night feeds and sterilise and prepare bottles, change nappies and settle the children to sleep, then dress and prepare the children in the mornings.

The Night Time Nanny is not responsible for laundry or any domestic cleaning. Hours can be varied according to your families needs and usually a Night Time Nanny is hired for 2-3 nights per week.

Temporary Nanny

This type of Nanny is great for filling in for your permanent Nanny's time off (e.g. holidays etc). Also if you are going on your own family holiday and wish to take a nanny with you for the duration, a temporary Nanny is perfect. She will carry out all the duties of a full time nanny and you can choose to have her live in or live out. Hours are arranged and discussed on interview.

Special Needs Nanny

If you have a child that has special needs, it is essential to employ a Nanny that has experience. She will perform all of the duties a full time Nanny carries out and can either be live-in, live-out, full time or part time. Since these Nannies are specially trained or will have first hand experience with Special Needs children, they normally command a higher salary.
