The right nanny for you

We have carefully designed our Family and Nanny registration to give the best possible opportunity to find the right "match".

All you have to do is decide which type of Nanny meets the needs of your Family and your children (see the Types of Nanny page for descriptions and definitions). You can then use the search form to see which Nannies fit the type you need.

Remember that the more detail you put into the initial phase of selecting a Nanny the less chance there is that you will select and interview unsuitable candidates.

Having selected one or more candidates from our Nanny profiles you can draw up a shortlist. Then contact us to arrange a first interview.

You will need to draw up a detailed description of the Nanny's job and consider such matters as her duties, hours of work, rate of pay and terms of employment and also your thoughts on matters such as family pets, smoking, languages, driving requirements etc.

The process of screening Nannies' backgrounds is carried out by Hire a Nanny - we check background, references, qualifications etc. (see Background Verification for more details). This leaves you free to concentrate on the details that will matter to you and your Nanny in terms of her work and conditions of employment.

See the useful information section for tips on interviewing.

Your Children

You may wish to bring your children in to the selection process at an early stage, after all it is they who will be spending much of the time with the Nanny. Use the Nanny profiles as a basis for discussion.

You will obviously want your children to meet the candidates for the Nanny post when you interview them and allowing them to share in the selection process with you, seeing and reading about them, can help to make interviews less stressful.
